Live Streamed Incursions

Students participate in engaging, interactive live streamed incursions every term
Teachers learn alongside the students and are provided with optional lesson ideas and follow up activities
Parents are given an overview of each session to help open up important conversations

Scope & Sequence

Our live stream incursions differ in odd & even years to ensure students are always seeing new content. Whilst some key concepts are revisited yearly, they are explored using different scenarios, which we ensure are age-appropriate and relevant.

2024 Dates & Times

To help avoid timetabling clashes, each term, and for each year level, there are 5 sessions across 5 different days/times. If for some reason, your school cannot attend live, there will be a replay available to watch on demand.

Live Streamed Incursions

F-2

Join Ollie, Marty, Jem & their new friend Ruby as they begin their online adventures. Whilst Ollie loves his iPad and gaming we are quick to discover that he has a lot to learn...just like our junior students!

3/4

Animations and augmented reality help tell the story of our young adventurers online. Each character we meet encounters a new challenge with so much to help inform and empower our Year 3/4 students.

5/6

Immersed in realistic scenarios, students in Year 5/6 are challenged to reflect more deeply about their online experiences. Preparing them to thrive in an online world involves being aware. clever, brave and kind.

Years F-2

Here is a snapshot of the 2023 Term 1 incursion. This focused on what the internet is, early warning signs (when we feel uncomfortable online) and help-seeking.

Years 3/4

Here is a snapshot of the 2023 Term 2 incursion. The focus was healthy digital habits, including how different tech can make us feel as well as balancing our screen time with green time.

Our live stream incursions were nationally recognised with an award for innovation! Inform & Empower was the recipient of the Inspiration Award at the 2023 iAwards run by the Australian ICT Industry Association (AIIA).

The student, staff and parent sessions run by INFORM & EMPOWER are fabulous. The content is developmentally appropriate and engaging. You can tell Marty comes from an educational background, because no one could keep our students engaged for as long as he did without some tricks up his sleeve.

Our unique parent information session, Raising Kids in a Digital World, is co-hosted by Marty McGauran (primary school teacher) and Carley McGauran (psychologist & mum). Your parents will leave the session, not terrified of all things online but importantly, informed and empowered to make the best decisions for their family.
